Is it just a coincidence that Shane, Joel, and blueocean have all disappeared from this forum? Could it be that they are working together on the next release?

    We can but hope!

  5. I also hope so - but sadly it seems a BIG "coincidence" to me that they are ALL on extended holidays. At least Montecristoff from the PointUI team is still active :P

Like all here, I hope for big NEW things soon. Otherwise the "nay-sayers" will be proven correct.

    Long Live PointUI Home2

I have paid for both Home 2 Pro and Pointui Phone and been an active member of this community to boot, so consider myself to have been extremely supportive of the Pointui team.

That said, I think that we would all like to see an update statement from Pointui (Shane and Joel) as it has been 2 months since either of them posted to this forum (and much, much longer since the Product Roadmap was updated.) I find it hard to believe that the Pointui guys are not aware of the recent conversations in this forum surrounding the product's demise. I'm not asking for a detailed response - though that would be nice ;) - a simple Yes/No answer as to whether the product is still being developed by Pointui.

Monte - as part of the extended Pointui team, do you have anything you would like to share with us? (Or are you as in the dark as the rest of us?)

  8. Seconded ganzee - and also a BIG thanks for your great work on developing PointUI!

    Monte
    - are you around?

@ganzee: me too, i would like to hear some kind of news from the PointUI guys. i too have the pro version of PointUI and i have been running it with BlueOcean's PointSense 2.0.0.6 for several months now. No complaints here with either PointUI or PointSense. PointUI made my O2 Atom Life XDA usable again and my Ominia fun and functional. just wanted to know if PointUI is still being updated/developed that's all.

i just hope we can get answers from them soon.

Let's put this in perspective....the 15 bucks we paid did not obligate these guys for life. I'm thankful for how much has already gone into this project. As I have said, I believe it is still the best UI available...as a whole. After all, I just paid $5 for a twitter app that is underdeveloped, and unusable for me.

    Thanks, developers.

  11. Agreed - there certainly is no "obligation" with software (but I know some people will still whine about it).

What hurts I think is, as ganzee and eaglegreek have said above, is the SILENCE.

I, for one, do not believe it's all over. I am hoping that Joel and Shane are just busy with other work, but of course that's no excuse for a 2 month silence ... even though these forums basically run themselves.

What members are after is a "heads-up" on future developments and releases etc.

    There ... my 2 cents worth :P

I agree with aussie_boi, the silence is not golden. All it takes is a brief hello guys we are still here and developing, or something similar.

  13. @ ganzee ... I notice that Infinity 0.2 was released yesterday ... continuing their development

@aussie_boi: yes...0.2 was release this weekend... development is steady... i was even able to make my own widget ;-) ... but still love my Omnia because of PointUI and PointSense though (",)

It'd be interested to know, whether Joel, Montecristoff & Co. are running the company as their main job or as a "sideline"..?!

    Posted 7 months ago #
  16. Sadly the COMPLETE silence seems to mean only "ONE THING" - RIP Pointui?

I find it completely unbelievable that no one from the PointUI team, including Monte has not been able to read this thread and make a comment.

Guys, we would like to know the truth - something - anything about what is/is not happening please.

    @aussie_boi:

All may not be lost after all...

Check this thread. It would seem that Shane (or someone) is still issuing customerids and according to NorrinRadd, the current extended vacation is not without precedence.

    Still hoping...

  18. C'mon people. They are alive in their basement working on stuff that can't really come answer repeated questions. Their job is not complete the UI that they have always dreamed of and they are working on it.

Meanwhile, its up to us to keep working or leave and come back later.

Anyone here who has briliant ideas, throw them out on the table so some people start working on them. You may need to fold your sleeves and learn some coding and themeing or maybe sketch some ideas out.

    Cheers guys.

  19. Edit - deleted - but still sad :(

@ Monte and all - I deleted my "words" because I was kinda saddened at writing words which could be construed as criticising the PointUI team.

I have always been a strong advocate of Home2 and it is the only WM UI I use and will ever use.

I am not talented enough to code from scratch, and whenever possible, if I can help "newbies" etc, I do.

I am seriously looking forward to whatever comes next, but to be honest, I personally think my current blend of apps and theme for Home2 is "perfect :P

Good luck to the PointUI team, and a belated happy Australia Day to you all in Australia :P

  20. Sorry for not being here permanently, but we're still alive.
We know that many Pointui fans are waiting for some updates.
It will come when it comes.
    Cheers.

Edit: you don't need to delete your post... It's important for reading comprehension.
    And still happy ;)

Well, I'm a developer myself, and I can understand them not working on this project any more. Android is such on a huge rise, I would want to jump on that wave as there is a lot of potential there.

If I were them, I would jump and work on Android.

I am disappointed about this prospect as I love what Point UI and Pointsense have done for the Windows Mobile community, and I'm using it now. But fact is, Android is really hot now, and it'd be pretty fun to work on.

Honestly: not true. Of all current platforms for mobile devices, Windows mobile is the the very most underestimated one... There are no limits on what can be done, esp. on modern hardware like the latest HTC PocketPCs, for example. PointUI demonstrates it perfectly - as lots of other amazing projects do (have a look on "Silvermoon", amazing! ). Sadly, Microsoft was not able to communicate the advantages of the platform to the public. Everything Apple, Google and others are doing now, has been possible on WM for years...

  26. +1 for WinMo potential.

I agree w/ Paul as well... unfortunately Windows Mobile like Windows OS has never been as flashy or simplified for general public use. Whereas Apple/MACs have generally been nicer and flashier to the eye as well an easier GUI to use for most users, with Android somewhere in the middle. WM of all new Mobile OS' is still the only one you can do 99.99999% of everything that you can on a laptop/PC. Heck I even code in C on my still great but old HTC Wing!!!!! I always get a good chuckle with all this AppStore nonsense counts. WM though with no central app store for a long time till recently, always had hundreds of thousands if not millions of apps before iPhone or Android even came along that could do everything theirs could, though not the nicest looking of course. Hopfully Windows Mobile 7 can close the gap on ease of use and flashy looks for the masses, though I could care less about those things as they usually mean no substance. Function for me far outweighs form, since I use my phone as a productivity tool and not for gaming or fun (those are secondary). Sorry for the ramble... ;p

  28. But being a user of HTC HD2 which I purchased recently, I havt o admit that 1Ghz CPU + WinMo 6.5 kicks butt. PointUI runs without a hickups and the rest as well. I am totally shocked by this phone and I love it.
WinMo will be get better in 7.

    Cheers,

PS< Norrin, what are you doing?

    @Nimche:
Still working on Adrenaline Suite with capt_harlock77. I will be creating a new thread this week to consolidate our work and my new changes. Such as introducing 2 new Adrenaline Hydrogen Home Applets (infused a lot of all-in-one applet features from my old SonicMyStatus stuff) as well as a condensed version of the suite that's more PointSense friendly... Since I have such an old underpowered phone all Home2 dev I do now is centered on using as much Home2 native, no graphics when possible, and avoidance of timers or using Home2's POOM (better to read everything from reg where possible for speed and less need for user config). Yeah I know I should be getting a new phone but I like mine and it still works great, though I am also writing apps for the Palm Pre as my wife has that phone now...

    Posted 7 months ago #
  30. I have heard so much about that Palm Pre. Good that you are busy with stuff. Where do you live? Europe or somewhere else.
you are right, I read the configs and PointUI docs once in a while to get something out of it. I workd more AS3 flash but really love to bring something here or atleast on my phone. Lets see if I get little time to spare.
