[Applet] TaskManager Applet version 20090612

(17 posts)
  1. Hi, this is my first experiment in writing an applet. Made a taskmanager that list all the running programs. By clicking on the program title you switch to the program.

As it is very beta, I didn't include a close button. If you want to close a running program, than you can switch to the windows taskmanager by clicking on the 3-dots icon near the applet title.

Known bug is that when the list of running programs is to long, and reaches the 4 Home2 buttons, Home2 crashes.

    20/05/2009 QVGA/WQVGA version added
21/05/2009 added close button and localization (add term... yourselfs)
12/06/2009 added close all and suspend button (WVGA and VGA only)

I was planning on making something like this too. Mind if I look into the code and help improve it?

    Thanks for this applet!

I tried the qvga version but there's a graphic glitch. Sorry, I can't post a screenshot but the text "Running Programs" overlaps with the text and graphic of the first application on the list. I tried switching applications and it works well. However, I also think that the X button is needed to end applications.

Isn't this applet redundant? A task manager already exists (and works rather well) in the PointUI interface (Menu > Running). It can already switch to any task, close them individually or all at once.
Maybe this applet can be developed to introduce new functions.

Being an applet, I can easily access all the running applications and switch or close them without tapping the Menu>Running. I guess some won't be needing this applet.

Based on iode's cooment, perhaps a soft reset, black screen, turn off device and flip screen can be integrated with this applet. I'm not aware of any applet yet with these features.

I've been hoping for something like this since day one. I'm really looking forward to watching it develop. Thanks!

I like this one. The option that I've never seen before is the Memory at the bottom, that's quite useful.

Hello! I don't see the "Close All", "Suspend" buttons and free memory. I'm using GDI Font Preference in PointUI settings, because, I'm using cyrillic fonts. Then i'm using Bitmap fonts - i see them, but I cannot see sentences wrote in cyrillic . My system is - Winows Mobile 6.5. Version of applet is 2009.06.12.
