Anyone else with the i910 attempt to install the pro version? I can't seem to get it to start up. The free version starts up just fine and works great, but no love on the pro. I was wondering if anyone else is having the same issue. My first guess is that it has to do with SIM card stuff because applets that use SIM card code usually kill pointui, or don't even come up. Considering the pro version has all of that contact info, maybe that is it.

    i have the i900 nick,

i deleted home2 free in the remove programs then all folders, then installed pro and firstly added it bk to the today list.

this then took a while to load but eventually it booted and then i had to update to a new version which was ok...

I just finished trying those steps, and still no luck it just doesn't start. Hopefully someone with an i910 can either confirm my issue or tell me i'm crazy.

i dont have pro, but i do have an i910. i just wanna mention that the i900 is totally different from the i910. One is GSM and the other is CDMA. I would also like anyone to confirm the problem before i purchase the pro version.

I have a Verizon i910. I uninstalled the Home2 Free that I had previously on my phone. Deleted the Home2 folder from the Program Files folder and then installed the newly downloaded Pro version. It installs and starts up fine.

The problem I am having is with activation. I put in the code and it starts to search for an update but ultimately fails and returns the following error message:

"Unable to check for updates at this time."

Hopefully something is wrong with the server.

  8. Hi NickV, have you resolved this problem yet?

Hi nyc_Derek, do you ensure you have a valid internet connection active when attempting to activate?

The PRO version works fine on my Omnia i910. I downloaded the link from the email right on my Omnia, and just installed it. I didn't even bother to remove the old version (which was the most recent free one). It upgraded fine, and remembered my applets, programs list, quick contact list, and background. I then activated it, and it told me that a newer version was available (2.0.32). Once again I upgraded without removing the old one, and it still worked fine.

I'm having the same problem as nyc_Derek. I can't activate pro on my i910. I keep getting "Unable to check for updates at this time". I have tried to activate while using EVDO and also via 802.11. App is in main memory and internet connection is good. Have uninstalled, reinstalled an soft reset multiple times.

Seems to be working great on my i910 Omnia, installed in "My Storage".

    1. Uninstall the old version.
    2. Backup any applets/themes you don't want to lose and then delete your Home 2 folders from program files (If you don't the new folder options will not work!)
    3. Install Cab file from the email.
    4. It works!

The only wierd thing is that I've uninstalled/reinstalled 5 times now and not once has it asked me for my activation code...

  14. Hi metalzoic, it will try and not bug you with registration details unless it really needs to.

Hi realimpact4g, I'm just waiting for Nick to come into the office so he can check from the server side and make sure everything is ok. Maybe the issue isn't your internet connection but something on our payment server.

Mine is installed on the main memory.

The only wierd thing is that I've uninstalled/reinstalled 5 times now and not once has it asked me for my activation code...

Hmm... When I upgraded to 2.0.32, I did have to enter my registration codes again.

So the install from the phone didn't work either. I am glad to know that someone got it working on their Verizon phone, that gives me some hope at least. Qdoggy did you figure it out? I have always installed to the device memory, i guess i could try installing it to the my storage area.

  18. Hi NickV, are you saying that you click the exe from file explorer and nothing at all happens? The only thing I can think it could be related to is generating the cache of control panel applets which happens first run if the ControlPanel folder doesn't exist. Can you try creating a folder "ControlPanel" under the Home2 install folder and then add this xml file into the folder (it's just a blank one that contains no applets, but it will stop home from trying to generate it).

Still haven't gotten it to activate. Right now it is installed in the Main Memory. I will try and install it on my internal storage card and see if that works as suggested above. Thanks for your help guys. Will keep you posted.

Well, with a clean wipe and uninstall, still not able to get home2 pro version installed. Joel, anything you can think of I can do to troubleshoot it? I have tried every combo i can think of as far as installing/uninstalling goes, but I am willing to try anything.

  21. Hi nyc_Derek, I'm hoping Nick is going to be in the office in about 2 hours so he will start looking into the issues for people who couldn't activate - it may be something up with our activation server.

  22. Hi NickV, try the suggestion with ControlPanelCache.xml above. Sorry, just to be clear, are you saying that it doesn't install at all? i.e. do you not get the Home files onto your device at all? or are the files there, but running exe just does nothing?

Joel, I did notice that it created that controlpanel folder when i clicked on the home2.exe, and yes that is all that happens when I click on the exe, the little microsoft wait icon comes up and then goes away, and .UI never comes up... I will let you know how the ControlPanel thing goes.

Hmm... When I upgraded to 2.0.32

How did you do this. I'm running .30b and need to get the .32 but don't see how to do it?

Just tried the empty file and it did not work for me. Maybe qdoggy will have some luck. Any thing else i could try. p.s. I made sure to completely uninstall then do a battery pull then try and re-install after creating the folder Home2/ControlPanel/*.xml file

Joel, to be clear about your post#22, It DOES install without issues, but it does not start. Either from setting it as a today screen, or trying to open the home2.exe. However, the latest FREE version does install and start.

Same as NickV. Empty file does not help. If it does help activesync on my phone keeps trying to start up for some reason. I don't know. Kind of weird. Only happens when I have home enabled in the today screen, restart my phone and activesync keeps trying to pop up. Home on the other hand will not start. I have not had any problems with any of the free versions. I have always installed them in my main. I removed all my extra apps and themes from the their directories so only the installed apps and themes are present in those folders.
