  1. Hi,

Some time a go I was the first to make a custom top and bottombar for Pointui. You can watch it at:

    first video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZXfhsOHerw

    second video at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svTOqWMqEsY

On 14 august I added a technical preview version 3. This will be the last technical preview, meaning I will spent my time now on making it ready for beta-status. It's far from complete and not always stable: so be carefull with it

    This version has:

Top bar with phone signal, operator name, clock, battery status, missed phone and new sms. Clicking on the top bar gives you access to notification, sound and communication-center.
Bottom bar with phone tab, programs tab, contacts tab and settings tab. For the programs/contacts and settings tab you can choose your own favourites.
Switching to first applet: When not on the first applet holding the "Home" button brings you to the first applet. When on the home applet, holding the "Phone" button brings up the dialer.
Applet switching: pressing the right bottom bar (+ sign), opens the applet switcher. By clicking on an applet icon you easy switch to that applet.
Managing widgets: You can put on every applet up to 4 widgets buttons. To do this you have to hold the right botton bar (+ sign). This means that every applet can have different buttons.
Running Programs: By pushing the left bottom bar button, you will open the running programs screen, so you can easily close a running program or switch to an open program.
Internet favourites: By holding the left bottom bar button, you will open the Internet Favourites screen.
Switching softkey links eg. when you are in phone-tab you have <menu-applets>, in programs tab you have <programs-all programs> etc...
      ...

Just install the cab for your device, make the Customizer applet active and choose the NextGen Customization from the customizer applet (you have to click on the image the get a list). Enjoy it !!!

You can always go back to the standard Pointui top and buttom bar by choosing the Pointui Customization on the Customizer Applet.

    known bugs:

      - Sound notification doesn't work on all phones.
      - alignment topbar is not aligned (in transition for portrait/landscape and new buttons)....

Widgets can be programfiles[OK], Pointui buttons, internet favourites[OK], contacts[OK], wheather widget, appointment widget[OK], settings[OK], applets[OK], Pointui screens [OK], ...

Please add comments what you don't like.

I left here my hero clock applet.

added update on 28/8: install qvga version for qvga en wqvga devices, install vga version for vga and wvga devices. After installation, use customizer to switch to nextgen and the new files will be used. In this version clock and battery are fixed, added widgets for pointui screens, internet favorites and appointment widget

Important: I modified my widgets.xml files in the applets folders, to avoid conflicts with the pointsense suite. So if you want your orginal widget buttons back, just rename the widgets.xml file to NGwidgets.xml (in each applet folder except the pointsense applet folders)

    @cardefbel:

This looks really great. Is the slide-up screen done with Pointui or is it Sense?

  4. @ ilife:

it's wvga and messy coding/files over the system and you need pro. Not yet stable.

    @ganzee:

    it's all Pointui

Looking forward to the development, it has a lot of potential!

  8. @ Ilife:

give me a day. I will try to make a zip with all the files. Be aware that it is far from complete.

    @ gorf1000:

the potential is in pointui. But changing/making scripts for it can make it or destroy it.

  16. great work!
i'm glad to test your work with my pointsense suite when you release!
    Hopefully!

  17. Added a technical preview so you can enjoy it. Only WVGA (perhaps VGA: please feedback) and need Home2 Pro.

@ afreed: wheather script didn't change. I copied different version in directory but don't recall which. There are known problem when changing city's, but just press "back" when I get a pointui script warning and it than works.

Thanks for the scripts - really clever stuff! Please could you post the rest of the png files for the theme folder so that I can resize for QVGA using costp's converter?

  19. Hi cardefbel,

I've just tested it with success on a WVGA HTC HD.
    Wonderful work!
It's nice to see new common cs files... ;)

    And of course,

Tested on WVGA Pharos 137 successfully. The slide down for communication settings is a slick idea.

    great job!!

  21. @ ganzee: for qvga you must also change some value's because i made them mostly fixed. Loved what I was doing in changing and testing the scripts, so didn't payed attention to coding it for qvga. I'll look if I can find the ping files.

@ jlavoie: what do you mean by

it over lays the ability to easily add or remove applets
    .

If you mean that you can't change applets, take a good look at the youtube video.

No problem. I've found the values etc that need to change. Will wait for the png files, thanks.

Here are the QVGA jif files. Hope this helps others.

(cardefbel: there are 3 files 'missing' from the VGA version: ic_prog_normal,ic_row_bg, and ic_row_bg_vga).
