[APPLET] [VGA/QVGA] myPhone Applet Beta 0.9

  1. WilliamNo-

    I have installed your MyPhone mod on my Palm Treo Pro WM6.1, Pointui v2.18b with the following button display problem:

    Of course I'd prefer round buttons to go with my theme, but fully rendered square buttons are ok too!

    Also, is it possible to add an option in settings to disable the clock completely as I use this applet primarily as a comm manager/quicklaunch applet.

    WilliamNo... any chance of a VGA version of your skin as i like the look of it alot... and totally agree - any way of making more rounded buttons would be a big plus too...!!

  3. Hi alf,

    I agree with gbertoli regarding the disabled of the clock as i too only use for comm. I would like to have transparent background for all the buttons currently shaded with grey or black as shown above. It will make the icons look more attractive. Just a suggestion only....

    WilliamNo,

    I can't get your mod to work with my version. I put your folder in the themes folder. Then in home2 I went to menu-customize-change theme and I selected yours instead the default one. But everything looks the same still.

  7. Alf, I agree with others. You've done nice work on this. I've loaded it to my Tilt running WM6.1 and Home 2.0.28e. All the buttons seem to work properly and I've edited the settings file as follows:

    12or24h=12
    INFO=0
    BATT=1
    RingSound=\My Documents\My Ringtones\Ring-CookiesAndMilk.wma
    s2u2path=\Program Files\S2U2\s2u2.exe
    AppHourOnClick=\Windows\Calendar.exe
    AppMinuteOnClick=\Windows\Clock.exe
    AppF1=\Windows\CommManager.exe
    AppF2=\Windows\OneNoteMobile.exe
    AppF3=Call+1479#######
    AppF4=Call+1479#######

    When I have the applet loaded and running, the ring tone gets set to "Ring-WindowsMobile" and the phone does not ring for incoming calls. I'm not sure exactly what's causing it but today I did not run this applet and the problem did not occur. I've scanned this thread and didn't see any similar problems.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  8. I figured out that the changing ring tone was possibly coming from another applet. I still seem to have a problem when setting the PDA side of sound to zero it turns off all sounds to the phone as well. That's why it wasn't ringing for incoming calls.

    Is there any way of changing the F1, F2, F3 and F4 keys to icons of the applications you choose?

  10. First, let me say I like the app. By trade I've become an analyst and given up coding for many years. I'm tempted to start coding again to create some applets for fun. For now I contribute to the community with the skills that I have. I hope my notes here help make it better.

    I continue testing and here's what I've got.

    I'm running an AT&T Tilt with Windows 6.1 and Home 2 Pro. I started this exercise with my preferred ring tone set and it's path written out in the MyPhoneSettings.txt file and all sounds and ringing working properly. I also had the screen taps sound on when I started this.

    Volume icons:
    PDA PhoneActual phone settings
    On On --
    On Off PDA unchanged, phone off,
    On Vib PDA unchanged, phone off (not vib), MyPhoneSettings.txt file gets altered by to set the ring sound to *none* and ring tone reverts to system default
    Off Vib PDA & phone levels go to zero, the phone icon that was displaying Vib goes to reflect the sound level setting that was at before the exercise started
    Off Off No change from previous
    Off On No change from previous

    I don't understand how to change the myphonesettings.txt file. Do I have to use a registry editor? Where would I see (and change) all the settings that kingsuperdad shows above? I use the s2u2 and can't figure out how to make the locking feature in myphone work.

    Question,

    I installed MyPhone first without having s2u2 on my phone. The default locker kicked in when i pressed the "play" button or when the device was "ready" to lock itself. Then i installed s2u2 and changed the myphonesettings. Now s2u2 does the trick BUT THE DEFAULT LOCKER IS STIll ALSO LOCKING THE SYSTEM. How do i change that? (windows mobile 6 on a Samsung Omnia i900)

    My bad! I have a control panel applet running with a auto-lock setup!

    Observation:

    I changed in myphonesettings Call+1234567890 in Call+########## (my home number in the Netherlands). It didn't work! Then i changed it into: Call########## AND IT WORKED!

    Hi,
    Integration with S2U2 works great !

    Bluetooth management does not work, icon is always the green one, no action when tapping on it...

    When i try to modify some settings (like 12/24h or information display) I have an error :

    [MyPhone]Method Not Found
    .OnDone

    I really like this app, but I've installed it three different WinMo devices now and always have a problem that when MyPhone is an app in PointUI there is a grey box in the top left hand of the screen that covers everything underneath so they are no longer clickable.. it does it in all home screens EXCEPT Myphone! I was surprised that no one else has reported this after it did it on the 2nd and now 3rd device...
    Any ideas of how to get rid of it?

    I lastly installed it on an HTC Touch Pro2, running win6.1 and PointUI2.1 and had the same problem

  17. Hello ALF
    Applet is excellent and this is exactly what I need but ...
    I have a problem because I can see only half a line of the Info bar!

    I have HTC TyTN.

    Edit:
    I changed the line:

    lblInfoText.SetBounds(Device.AutoScaleValue(0), Device.AutoScaleValue(65), Device.AutoScaleValue(250),Device.AutoScaleValue(10));

    into:

    lblInfoText.SetBounds(Device.AutoScaleValue(0), Device.AutoScaleValue(55), Device.AutoScaleValue(250),Device.AutoScaleValue(20));

    and now is ok.

    Also, from the beginning, I have a problem that does not know how to solve.
    When I scroll to the next applet, black square left behind...

  18. Hi also running this on Kaiser (Tytn 2) and getting the darker square left behind when scrolling to next applet. Thoughts?

    I also get the Problem with the grey box in front of the other apps. Its the background of myphone. Seems that the app does not center in the middle of the phone and the background is to large. But I do not know how to fix the problem.

    I too have the problem of the grey background staying on the screen while scrolling to the next applet, this covers the applet so that it is not clickble.....

  21. Hi, author!Some questions I have :)
    1. the size of background.jif image is not correct. So I simply delete this image because it overlaps the next applet (to be precise, the right part of the next applet).
    2. HTC TyTN . "INFO" string is not intermeddle between four_buttons and clock (bacause of my theme "True glass"). Setting "Display nothing" can be added in that case? This also solved by manipulating numbers at string 499 (MyPhone.cs file)

    P.S. #139 & #140 your problem is solved here!!!

  22. a bug found: MyPhone.cs line 269: SacedRingerSound = Attributes.Item("RingSound");
    Solved: SavedRingerSound need to be here :)
