Hi guys, here's my first applet: HomePlus.
It was designed for QVGA, but should work with WQVGA too.
Thank you for all your suggestions, they are very helpful for me.

HomePlus v0.4 CE is the 3rd prize winner in the Official Social Networking Contest!

Important note:
When updating to higher version manually (updating, not patching), please delete all old files first (including config.ini and config.xml), and then extract new version.
HomePlus v0.4 isn't compatible with Pointui Home 2.0.x!

Known bugs:

Tips for translating:
Go to HomePlus Menu -> Settings -> System and scroll down to "Language", here you can see the language that's detected by Pointui. Duplicate "POLISH.xml" in HomePlus\terms, rename it to [your_language].xml (eg. GERMAN.xml) and edit. Then go to HomePlus Menu -> Settings -> Reload Terms and press Yes. Everything will be translated into your language. Strings that are not translated into Polish cannot be translated (eg. "Reload Terms").

Tips for creating clocks:
Create a new folder in /clocks directory, it's name will be displayed in skin list. Make pictures of digits and save them in PNG format as 0.png, 1.png, 2.png etc. All digits must be of the same size. Then make colon image (which can be on different size) and save it as colon.png. Next, make a background (400x400 px) and save it as wallpaper.png. Finally, use Png2Jif tool to convert files to JIF and copy them to created folder.

Tips for making custom wallpapers:
HomePlus v0.2 comes with wallpaper library (30 pictures included), but you can make your own wallpaper. Just make a 224x89 px image using any image editor and save it in JPG or PNG format, then copy it to \bg folder in the HomePlus directory. If you face problems with your image, convert it to JIF.

Tips for changing header & greetings text:
Since v0.3 these files can be edited from Settings menu. If you face problems with unicode, try these tips.
Create a file Header.txt and/or Panel.txt and put some text inside, it will be displayed instead of the default header/greetings text. Remove file(s) to restore default text.

Other tips:
If you want to have HomePlus demo (available after first run) listed with built-in Pointui demos, copy \Program Files\Home2\AppletRibbon\HomePlus\hpd.xml to \Program Files\Home2\Help and rename it to 40 HomePlus Demo.xml

To open calendar in screen saver view, you can also swipe your finger from right to left. To go back to the clock, swipe from left to right.

@Mantis75, you mean S2P is focused when you launch it from HomePlus? That's a normal behaviour, I haven't found any way to start app minimized from Home2, but I'm working on it.

Something strange: Home 2 closes when this applet is being used, but only when the PDA is in standby.. When I'm using the PDA (screen on), never closes.
I deselected the applet and everything goes back to normal.
(maybe this is the bug you mentioned above)

i used it with MyMobiler since my phone isnt touchscreen.

@caballero600, which version of Pointui are you using? Try 2.0.30b, this applet's using some new functions.

@victorjr, next release will have "Personal text" option.

@gronostaj, my version is 2.0.32 Pro. The closing problem also happens today, so it is confirmed that is this applet.

I suggest putting s2p album cover in the screen saver.

With a Spanish ROM I had to edit the homeplus.cs file changing "Program Files" for "Archivos de programa". Maybe there is an "international" way of putting file paths.

how it should be? I tried {Programs}\S2P.lnk but it's not working...

EDIT: okey, my mistake. It is: {Programs}\\S2P.lnk

I suggest to change this for future versions of this applet

~~2ND EDIT: Good news, I think that Home2 doesn't close, the bug I reported is a few seconds lag before the screensaver comes to front from a black one.~~ problem persists, home2 closes.

Ok, I guess that you can launch screen saver from menu and it works. Could anybody try this version on Pointui 2.0.30b? It seems like there's some bug in PowerNotification class in 2.0.32. I've got Touch too and all code was written on my Touch.

EDIT: v0.2 has been released.
EDIT2: v0.2b patch released for 2.1.0 compatibility.

I'm working hard on next release. Things flagged as "planned for v0.2" in To Do list are already added and working. Bugs #1, #2, #4 and #5 are fixed. I think bug #3 cannot be fixed with current structure based on flows, but there's a good news: wallpaper works after starting screen saver again, not all applet.

Screen saver bug... as I wrote before, everything is working on my Touch with Pointui 2.0.30b (free version). It's really strange that newer version isn't supported. I suggest temporarily disabling screen saver in config.xml. When launched manually it should work until turning screen off, because the PowerNotification class is used then too.

What's new in v0.2... all settings were moved to config.ini and now you can edit them from menu. The "silent" indicator has been removed because of strange behaviour after adding "Vibrate" button. I really have no idea what caused this problem, so I've removed this indicator. Now the WiFi icon is placed under Headset. Bluetooth icon has left in it's old place. There is also a "Bluetooth Discoverable" icon below it.

HomePlus v0.1 has got 200 downloads so far, AMANA.UI V0.1 had 261 clicks, so I think people like HomePlus too :) There are still some bugs, but v0.2 seems to be pretty stable and I'm going to release it this week.

Thanks for DarkCrew for his background from the Crew theme (here) and for pevel (www.gimpuj.info) for his image from "Pevel's picture" tutorial (here). They are the coolest ones from the background library for v0.2.

I have fixed a couple issues but there is still some functionality that requires further investigation, namely WiFi and Paths. The applet will now load but those errors will appear.

Shane, thank you for your work.
I was fixing v0.2 all night and now everything is working like it should. I think also the screen saver bug is fixed. This morning another screen saver error occurred and I wasn't able to replicate it, but I've made some changes and it should be ok. Anyway, HomePlus v0.2b is working on Home 2.1.0.
The v0.2b patch is attached to the first post.

I have again 4 tings
1. I can't find the .txt files to change the text.
2. Could you make an option to en/ddisable the sceensaver. My device(a htc touch) Is not fast enough on startup after sleep.
3. Is it possible that you change the personal text to a clock. When there is a new sms just go to the sms screen how you have it now in your applet but...
4. By my sms I have no contact picture only that basic 1.

I hoop haved help you again. Mabe I can help you with the rest.. I'm a noop but every one has to start somewere..

Hi victorjr, thanks for your feedback :)

1. You need to create these files. If files doesn't exist, the default text is displayed. Otherwise, applet will load text from files.
2. You can find it under HomePlus Menu -> Visible Items -> Screen Saver. It won't start automatically, but will still be available from menu. Btw, you can try to overclock your Touch using HomeScreen PlusPlus application connected with SecondToday. Touches P3450 can reach 247 MHz in average, but P3452s (Touch Enhanced, like mine) can handle up to 299-312 MHz (default is 201 MHz). If your Touch has 128 MB RAM and 256 MB ROM, then it's P3452.
3. Good idea, I'll try to implement it in next release.
4. This one is always displayed. I don't think it will be added to v0.3, maybe in future releases...

I guess the screen saver problem is fixed - I'm removing it from "Known bugs".

Your help is always welcome. Be careful with overclocking, don't check the "Overclock on reboot" checkbox until you're sure everything works stable. Overclocked Touch may be hot when charging or using WiFi, but you can ignore it. Mine is running always 299 MHz since year and feels good. If you see any strange things happening with screen (colorful dots on edges etc.), you should change CPU frequency to lower one.

What about the new menu? Is it better than the old one? Something needs to be fixed?

Hello everyone. This is my first post on the forum, but I follow Pointui since the first release, january 2008. I am Dutch, and 13 years old. So, my English isn't that good. I have translated this applet in Dutch, because I AM Dutch.

BTW: This is the coolest applet ever! And, my device is a Touch Dual.

BTW2: You must just copy this file into the applet folder, /Appletribon/HomePlus, and rename the file to .xml.
