@norrin
that would be great! left and right buttons to collapse/open 2 panels.
also, instead of brackets why not arrows? if it is open the arrows should be pointing upwards (towards the closed position) and if it is collapsed, they can be pointing downwards.

UPDATE: NEW VERSION 2.5RC!!!!, 5/28/2009
All, just uploaded my Release Candidate version to Post #1. This is a full release, so you will need to refresh your MyStatus dir at a minimum if you already have this applet-mod installed. This release inlcudes the following features and fixes...
1) G-Alarm, Windows Alarm, and all other time aspects of applet can be set to 12 or 24 mode via Settings.xml file.
2) Added Notes details to Tasks.
3) Added Volume (Speaker only, not ringer) control to System Meters slider (Volume icon). It initially defaults to raising the volume. Basically, just tap to go up or down in volume level it will switch to going up/down when you reach either max/min volume.
4) Full Terms support throughout Applet, let me know if I missed anything.
5) Full customization via Settings and Terms xml files, which allows you to localize all controls, but also choose your date formats, and various apps/app locations instead of making changes to .cs file directly. Wanted to implement this as a Settings menu in applet, but did not have time, though I will later...
6) Haptic feedback in key areas, I will add more as it makes sense.
7) Birthdays and Anniversaries now display (still working on Contact Card integration though). To display you will need Outlook 2007 and when adding B-day and Anniversary info to a contact a recurring appt will automatically be created. You may need to delete and add existing info for it take.
8) Fixed non-active alarms display bug.

Looking great as always Norrin. This is truely turning into the super applet

Thanks zelendel!!! Hopefully, I can finish up the remaining features for 2.5Final. Luckily, the VGA conversion once Brsev is done updating the graphics is the easy part, some of the other stuff I want like collapse animation, appt time grouping bars, etc. might be a stretch...
Posted 9 months ago # -
^^^ zelendel, also let me know if G-Alarm is working ok for you now in 12hr mode. It worked fine for me, but just want to be sure, also I forgot to add alarm days for G-Alarm in this release, but I will add it in a minor release in a day or two...
Posted 9 months ago # -
Terms localization doesn't seem to work again. I tried even to replace the terms.xml or terms.english.xml with the translated one, but all strings stay in english. Any help on that?
Posted 9 months ago # -
12 hour in G-Alarm works like a charm. Everything works except the memory of sd card. If anyone can pull off the "STRETCH" I am sure it is you. I noticed that you mentioned working on a file type explorer? Looking forward to next release. How comes the intergration of E 3g ect icons? I only ask cuz we just got 3g in Alaska. *OFF* ATT Has picked up the TP2...You know I am getting it. I just hope they do something about the color they choose. Ugly superman red keyboard. *On Topic*

^^^ zelendel:
Yup, still debugging the meters stuff contstantly, I'll soon start putting up some debug versions for people to test though. As for the file explorer, mine is nowhere near as complete as alienworkshop's which is downright amazing. I will probably ask him if he'd like integrate some of my functions I've done that currently aren't in his, specifically viewing multiple folders at once via screen swipes. The 3g/provider icons are coming along nicely, but just been having too much fun playing around with other functions and ideas like the 2nd Panel Tasks/Weather where I've got some cool animations when switching from the tasks to the appt's panel, so far it moves just as smooth as the slider animations. I'm also playing around with animating the volume functions i just added where the whole screen goes dark and is overlayed with big meter graphics showing your volume going up or down with each click. It's in an early stage, but I'm definitely gonna ask Brsev apply his graphical magic to my test graphics. Basically playing around with these two animations as practice for the collapse animation which is much more complex. *Off Topic* Awesome news about the TP2, I'm sure I'll have a VGA version of this applet done by the team you get it. *On Topic*
^^^ dancer69:
Can you explain your process and possibly upload your terms file so I can test myself? Thanks
Posted 9 months ago # -
Sorry for that, was my fault.
I found the problem. I forgot to save the file in UTF8(somehow notepad saves the file to ANSI if I don't choose save as). Now it works. I'm now testing for untranslated strings.
Here is the greek terms file:Posted 9 months ago # -
AS far as the meters go. I am running an 8gb card is that a problem? I really liked the sound of the 2nd panel but was worried about it slowing down the applet. I like the sound of the volume. Kinda like the HTC volume control? I hope so then I can remove it from my roms. *OFF topic* Ill wait till you have a vga before I get it. They say june but we all know ATT. *On Topic* If you need some one to help test you know I'll be more then happy. Keep up the great work. Just an idea maybe you and Bserv could work together and set up a whole set of applets to match. Just an idea.

I just noticed some bugs with terms and stuff i'm missing after looking at yours. I'll update and add back very soon...
zelendel, hmmm we'll see...
Posted 9 months ago # -
I also noticed some missing items from my translation and I updated the file on my above post. I included some weather translations that I took from weather applet translation file, but don't work on your applet.
Posted 9 months ago # -
Oh man, can't wait for a VGA release! I'm surprised people I don't see too many people requesting a VGA either!
Posted 9 months ago # -
^^^ dancer69:
Yup, I noticed from your initial file I had missed adding weather terms to the code and a couple others. I've fixed this so see the first post for updated .cs file so weather descriptions can translate. I also uploaded new Terms.xml and Settings.xml files for you to refer for additional terms you can translate as there are a lot more with this applet. Also, I did not realize there were such long weather descriptions and I have code that will screw up your translations as I was abbreviating the 1st word (i.e., Mostly would change to M.) of each description that was more that 13 characters to get most to fit in the limited area under the clock. So you may want to take this into account in your weather translations. Let me know if it works now and if you have any other questions.
Devil:
There were many requests for VGA and also square devices too in the previous thread I was posting to before I started this one to better organize my releases and make it easier for everyone to download and find info on it.

@NorrinRadd:
Thanks for the info. Nevertheless, I've started using another Today applet which I like. But I'll still be waiting for your VGA. I know there's quite a few people at XDA and PPCGeeks who would love to get their hands on VGA as most are waiting for it.Posted 9 months ago # -
^^^ Devil:
Thanks!!!! Yup, all applets here are amazing and imho you can't really go wrong. Well, with regards to VGA, code is ready and once Brsev completes the graphics work in a few weeks I'm gonna need testers for the VGA version, as I've added autoscale to all my code there won't be any issues. Plus I already tested on a WM6 VGA emulator with the current QVGA MyStatus graphics scaled to VGA and it worked quite well, just a couple misalignments which I already fixed, but doesn't replace actual device testing... Thanks again for the support!

@norrin,
I'm happy that you're coming out with a 2nd collapsible panel for tasks/weather.
However, it came to me that it makes more sense to put tasks and appointments together in the same panel, isn't it? Can't the weather stand by itself in a separate panel?
As always, just a suggestion.
Posted 9 months ago # -
@NorrinRadd
Thanks for fixed files.
Translation seems complete now. Only thing I mention until now is that the Months and the days in calendar aren't translated(but I think that days are part of the graphics), and also the date label(if isn't Today or Tomorrow)Posted 9 months ago # -
This applet is grate but it uses alot of memory :(
Posted 9 months ago # -
applet ist good, but very slow!
Posted 9 months ago # -
^^^ Yes it has gotten slower with all the additions (for those that remember when it was just appointments and weather it was pretty quick) to it, specifically the calendar and sliders. When 2.1 is out which allows applets to call one another I will do away with the calendar in MyStatus which should speed things up quite a bit.
Posted 9 months ago # -
All,
For users experiencing slowness (which I experience too, as I only have 10mb free memory, 24mb free storage/disk, and a slow OMAP 201mhz CPU[actually it's OC'd to 312mhz]) I will be placing a quicker version which won't have calendar (only 1-week mini in Today view), Collapse View, and Sliders. If anyone's interested or would like to do away with different things let me know I'll remove and post it.
Posted 9 months ago # -
I just noticed that if I use the 24 hour display format, the appointment descriptions disappear. Only the time of the appt. is shown with the colored bullet. In 12h format I see the time plus colon and the description. Anybody else seen this?
EddyPosted 9 months ago # -
@Norrin For the first time today I got the clipping issue with the task screen. Is that still an issue? It could be my custom 6.5 rom as I am still ironing out all the bugs but thought I would ask. Great Work as always. Looking forward to final release.
Posted 9 months ago # -
@norrin,
good idea to remove calendar. anyways, tapping the appointments list launches thumbcal. also, i always have it in open view (not collapsed) as the design of the whole thing is so nice that i like it to be my today screen. if you remove the sliders, can you put back the percentages of the power and the signal meters flashing briefly when you tap on the icons? and keep the power setting and comm manager if long tapped?
thanks.

I have made more changes to accomodate missing terms you found and others I found. I'll explain in more detail after I post the .cs file.eddym:
Thanks for the catch, the missing code is in the Calendar appt's, but not in Today View appt's I will add this back.zelendel:
Yup, I thought I fixed it, damn I haven't seen it in forever let me look into this again place in the bugs list.joshzzz2001:
Thanks for the input, I'll put out a slimmed down and quicker version after I get the above fixes out, just need to figure out where to put Tasks now as I still want this, even the slimmed down version, all I know is I'm jealous of any who have more than 20mb free mem, but apparently I'm not the only one with slowness issues...Posted 9 months ago # -
If you're taking requests on feature removal, I'm all for not having weather. I don't have a data connection so I never use that feature anyway. That would also clean up the clock area and make it more minimal (which is always a plus for me). I'd like to keep the calendar though. Loving the new RC btw!
Posted 9 months ago # -
I slightly modified your app. I use the weather info from my weather applet. So the files: cities.xml, favourtie.xml and search.xml are taken from the ..\appletribbon\weather directory. So at least on both applets the data are in sync. I am using a weather applet which shows the windforecast, so occasionally I slide to that one.
I just wonder if in general it would be wise to have a special directory with data used by several applets.Posted 9 months ago # -
Ok fix posted (see Post #1) for the above issues in Post #87.
bcbomb47:
I can do that as well...eddym:
That's a great idea!Posted 9 months ago #
