This is a modification of the basic applet "Messaging"

I search someone to make a layout of what could be a Sonnar theme of this applet.Post images or what you want...

V1.0
Now when you click on a message or email the message appears in Pointui Home 2 window.
After that, you can choose if you want to see this message in Outlook
Or directly reply to the message.
Or see the previous messages of the sender.
FIX:
Tap message to open the "menu" window

V2.0
When you click on the top right button you open the inbox in a Home2 window.
In the "Inbox" window you can click on a message to open it.
In the "Previous messages" window you can click on the messages to open the "Menu".
Two buttons added in the "message" window : Next (show the next message ;) ) and Previous (you understood I think).
And all the things I forgot....;)

Fix : 2.1:
Body of email fix (thx Dr Suse)

V2.2
Please use the build 2.018b of Pointui home 2
I added the delete button created by Senab
I added the modification of hour and date display made by Senab
I added a new tab to view all messages accounts. Not perfect but it took me a lot of work.I'm tired ... :) or :(
When you receive a new message the account name is displayed in bold font.

V2.3
Please use the build 2.018b of Pointui home 2
I corrected a lot of bugs .
New button in "menu" window. This button opens a list that allows you to choose the number of messages you want to display.
French translation (because I'm French and François le Français asked me a special translation lol)

V3.0
Please use the build 2.018b of Pointui home 2
This version allows to write a message directly with the applet.
New buttons in "menu" window.
Known issue :
Up to now the message length is limited to 30 characters. Maybe a Pointui Home 2 bug.I'm working on it.

V4.0
Please use the build 2.018b of Pointui home 2
Ok completely new layout: now TF3D style!
However, you can install the classic one if you want.
More options to open or reply as you want.
To open the inbox hold the second icon on the left!
Known issue :
Up to now the message length is limited to 30 characters.
No unread count for the TF3D theme : it will come but I think of notifiers system.

This is a beta so if you find bugs post immediatly !Thank you!

More features will come....

Installation:

Unzip the file, then select the folder QVGA or VGA and after that select the theme : TF3D or Classic.
Copy\paste the 13 files into the Messaging applet folder.
Reload your theme to apply the new features.

nice work, i will use it until the pro version came out. but one thing you should update: only the head of the email messages is shown in your extra window

I don't know if this ties into your project exactly, but what I would really love would be an easier way to see what account new messages are on and a way to switch between them without cycling through them all.

Explanation:

I have 5 accounts in pOutlook. If a new email comes in, I don't know from the applet which account has a new message. In addition, if I am on account #2 and want to get to account #1, I have to click that "next account" button several times to get from 2->3->4->5->1.

I hate to compare different UIs, and I really like PuintUI, but this is 1 point where TouchFlo3D is really nice. It shows a little envelope for each account (no text, you just remember which envelope is which) and it puts a colored number on the one(s) with new unread mail.

Thanks!

4. nice work. hopefully somebody can mod it with some eye candies like the animated message found in TouchFlo. Currently the applet can be alittle dull afterawhile :)

To DrSuSE: if you want I can try to add tab named for example : New Messages and Email. And in this tab you will see all the new emails and messages.
This is a good idea DrSuSE ;)

YEEESSS! finally! been waiting for someone to do such a modification! am not fond of the standard built-in windows messaging interface, its sooo old school and simple..

have a request though! is it possible to add a modification for sms window, where in if we want to reply or send a message we will still be in the POINTUI window? no need to be forwarded or transferred to the windows standard messaging window? you get my drift?

Hoping for a positive feedback dude! hope u can do it! Great Work!

i think i found a bug. when you click reply in your extra window (messaging part) and you finished your answer, ready to sent, windows wants you to select a contact. after selecting an error message appears.

sorry for my english ;)

to inc_w: Normally with the functionnality :
table.GetValue("Body", Body);
I can load the body of the email but I don't know why the string is empty when I use the keyword "Body" maybe a bug ....So for the moment only the subject of the mail is displayed.
If someone have an idea...

to razorbone : maybe in the future if the function (to send email or message) is added by the Pointui team.

14. Realy nice, can i just suggest, tap on message to open menu ?

Posted 1 year ago #
15. alienworkshop, there's a tmail.exe command line that you can use to send the message w/o having to open/transfer to the poutlook window.

Works well on my Diamond Congratulations!!

A little remark, when you read your SMS by this way, the icon 'new message' is still present in the windows bar on the top of the screen...

Just for the future: a function 'delete message' in your menu...

Thanks

No function in PointuiC to delete a message because PointuiC extract messages in a table so after that I can't work on the real messages file and makes modifications

@ Alienworkshop: so you mean that TF3D works directly on the real messages and not pointUI? grrrrrrr
:)
But that's perhaps the cause that when you read your message with your applet, the icon 'new message' on the windows bar doesn't disapeared... That's definitively a lack of time if we have always to read the SMS with the windows interface to make this icon disapears...
But i love your applet!! :)

I don't know but in PointuiC you can import messages but not add or make a modification of messages(move to garbage for example). Or[u] I don't know this function ;)

One more observation if not mentioned above.
After reading message in Applet, remove the unread mark against it.

Cheers

Please rename the messaging.txt to Messaging.cs and copy\paste into the Messaging applet folder.
Please rename the Terms.xml.txt to Terms.xml Copy\paste into the Messaging applet folder.

Okay so I'm lost and feel really dumb right now. I have NO idea how to change the file types. When I do it it still ends up being a text document... I tried both on my computer and directly on the phone. Can someone tell me how to do this OR just post the modified files??

Thanks!

@ AAron, you have to desactivate the option on your PC " mask the extension when the file type is known" or something similar...
Using a french Windows XP you can find it in any folder windows: outils/option des dossiers , onglet affichage ,masquer les extensions des fichiers dont le type est connu.

29. I have had a look at the cs file and have edited it so that it should open the email and text mesages in the new window, not just the headers

In Vista, it'll be Organize tab, folder and search options, view, uncheck "hide extensions for known file types"

open any folder.....
