"All in One" Applet

First credits to:
- SevenRains from xda-developer for his locking-app, Sunscape
- Orlando, I took some part from his SystemInternals, as far as I know some apps from MarcLandis are also used there -- credits to him too
- Ivanskj, the appointments part is from his MyStatus
- blueocean, weather part: look here
- Big thanks to strages for his graphical work and testing support

What we've got now:

- FullscreenApplet for (W)VGA/(W)QVGA, using advantages of PointUI 2.0.30b --thanks for this great app
- Notifications for Messages, Mails and Calls
- Appointments and Alarms (mods for ThumbCal and G-Alarm included)
- 5-Day weather forecast
- 4 Shortcuts for your favourite Applications
- Controls for Sound(Mute/Vibrate/On), Bluetooth, Wifi, Flightmode, Data connection and 3G
- Systeminformation for Storage, Memory, Volume, Signal and Battery
- Clock and Date view
- Music player
- As known from former versions you can hide all onscreen controls
And: a full working Slide2Unlock/Rub2Unlock function (Themeable, high customizable, opensource)

For some (speed) reasons I needed to shrink possibilities for customization.

Usage:
- Slider TopLeft: Click and Hold - Lock Screen
Toggle System settings
- Slider BottomLeft: System Information and Settings
- Slider TopRight: Shortcuts
- Slider BottomRight: Switch between Appointments, Weather an Notifications (or hide 'em)
- For Weather Settings Click and Hold Weather
- You should find out the rest for yourself ;-)

History:

SlideToday 1.0:
- "All in One" Applet ;-)

SlideToday 1.0.1:
- this is an add for version 1.0, so you need both!
- Bugfixes: please replace your settings.xml, copy (and rename to SlideToday.cs) your mod in the SlideToday-Folder
- Alternate theme: add the Folder "steel" to "...\SlideToday\themes", select it in the settings-section and reload the applet
- if you like you can change your background

SlideToday 1.0.2:

- cab-installer, credits to our genius costp - just install and load applet --works since 1.0.3.2
- QVGA-users may delete "...\SlideToday\Weather\*.VGA" -Folders
- internationalized! Translators needed! german incuded
- For using the mods rename SlideToday_*.cs --> SlideToday.cs
- alternate Theme included
- Bugfixes

SlideToday 1.0.3:
- added PointUI Theme (Alpha-State) based on SlideToday-"steel"-Theme
- now you can toggle Weather/Appointments/Notifications by tapping 4th Slider, it comes out by tap and hold
- Toggle visibility of date
- steel is new default theme
- Subversion 1.0.3.2:
- thanks to costp: now we have a cab-installation (VGA + QVGA)
- Some graphical tweaks
- some bugfixes

SlideToday 1.0.4:
- MusicPlayer added, credits to reaper for some lines
- hide Player/Weather/Notifications... by tap and hold player-icon

maybe someday I can test it for VGA ;-)

wow very nice XD going to try it out now!.. bt wplz put amanaui theme up for screenshots lol

tried it ;)

feedback:
very nice! impressive even. however!
the sliders are way to small... its even hard to let them appear with the stylus (it really needs a gentle push ;) )
the text for all the statusbars is colliding with the bars...
to be honest.. its slow..
why the clock dissapear feature when touching the screen?

overall! super nice.. even the clock theme

plz add more features like calendar and alarm and pfff impress me

PS: for users.. the applet works... the foldername needs to be called AMANAtoday and not with the suffix V0.9 or something like that

Update 20090326 Luv the concept! Impressive turn around with your enhancements responses!
O2 Flame, VGA, WM5.
- The toggle is a really efficient way to select from multiple options without changing screens, well done!
- Slider touch zone works fine on my VGA.
- I don't have a problem with the tabs sliding over the time. They are temporary reference only.
My comments
- Allow future tabbed content to fill all the available applet space, not just the 'tab' (same as tabbed browser pages)
- Happy to sacrifice slide-out animation for speed of screen paint if that is a trade off.
- Perhaps a user option to reverse the clock and tab colours would be helpful for those of us addicted to dark backgrounds.
- For increased contrast make the 'empty' meter segments the same as background or reverse your background/meter colours as your text is already light.
- Constrain the clock click area to the middle 2 digits
- Move the clock up to match the top border (or higher) of the existing top tab . That will increase the area available for you to play in below the clock.
- A user definable option for 12 hour time for those of us not in the military.
- You could soften the tabs to a transparent watermark so that they interfere less with the visual impact of your uncluttered but functional screen. They are already perfect for my black background ;)
- Icons on tabs to define content wireless antenna, meter, etc
- Once you've filled up 3-4 tabs on the left side of screen can we expect some user definable/switchable tabs on the right?

Cool one!!!

However, to get it running, I needed to rename the folder from
AMANAtoday_0.9 to AMANAtoday. Otherwise the applet was not operational.

Would it be possible to also display hidden files in the clock application dialogue?
Background: I'd like to use tclock.exe which is the default clock of my Omnia. TClock.exe
resides hidden in Windows directory and is therefore not listed (edited the XML manually for now ;) ).

Cheers and kind regards
Mike

@ strages: thanks for feedback

I tried to improve touchresponse and corrected the foldername. Untill now there is no smaller Font than small (you can hide the percents).
I hide the clock for a clean view on Background.

@ Ropeinspector: I don't know how (I did it the same way for me)

@sidvizioso: For the clock I use 2 bars

very quik response xD love it

feedback for now:

wifi option doesnt seem to work propperly.. that is at my phone..
the the buttons are still far to small :P .. maybe lower them too.. so they dont go over the clock.. there is a lot of free space left in the vga version just under the clock
bit faster indeed.. always nice speedupgrades

gl

btw for theme makers.. would it be possible for you to upload the pngs? tx

I think the wifi-thing is a problem of redrawing Screen.
I don't know how to wait with Redraw untill wifi is really connected.

I will upload pngs later, but have to sort before and make the Applet themable.

truly brilliant - can't wait to see what else can be added into those sliders!

on a 2vga device there is a slight issue with the text on the lower slider and on the transparency with the background Also, what is the RAD bar for?

Great deal of work on this. Really nice approach (I know it was proposed by someone else but I think making this work is somthing new on this board at least as far as I know.

What clock select options do I have available? Application only or other clock applets or themes like in infinitihome2?

Posted 11 months ago #
13. cna you make this into classes so that we can incorporate into the clock applet that we desire? e.g. for me it'll be flipclock.

Posted 11 months ago #
14. Thanks jo_keks, your applet looks nice with Amana style.
No credits to alienworkshop?

16. Testen on VGA device (Eten M800)

All function ok, only the storage indicator don't work (can i modify the parameters on .cs for this?)

My problems/suggestion:

- Clock position, how can i move it? Please tell me the .cs parameter
- Sliders icon and black touch sticky, bigger is better on vga device
- Slide speed is slow, how can i speedup the movement?
- Vibrate icon is "strange": a blurry speaker...is't right?

When I tap the clock it disappears which is nice for the background but could there be an option to have it go to alarms instead? Also on my Touch the "sto" and "mem"info is always at 0%

@ Sidvizioso: Somewhere in the community Iread about saving memory by loading less Images. So I started to play a little and wrote the clock I useat the moment (just need two load "two little bars" and one dot, not five "big" images.

If it is ok to MarcLandis I would try to insert his skinable Analog clock.

Since testing for 24 hours I can report the application blocks the phone waking up on alarm. (slept in :0) I have had similar problems with other device management applets. I don't think its the device monitoring component.

I like the ability to clear the clock off the screen and bring it back at a tap and click n hold to go to WM clock/alarms. This is the only applet that offers this function I think. Nice feature! see attachment1, post #3

Answer for Sidvizioso, answer for all...and for me???????

I've tested on VGA, simple questions/suggestions but no answer...PLEASE DON'T WRITE "tell me if you can bla bla bla"

Hi Simonz,

please excuse my late answer, there was a lot of work for me last days.
I read all statements and now i'm working on a new version with many changes.

I think on Monday we will get a new release with:

- MLAnalogClock included --> Thanks to MarcLAndis
- The Applet will become skinable too. So you can change the Size of the slidebars, the Buttons an the touchable Area of the Slidebuttons.

And (for you?) i will give the possibility to change slidespeed

png for themers attached (look at first Post)

Ifigured out a little "workaround" to get the memorymeter working and let the device wake up on alarm:

Start Pointui from {programs}\home2\Home2.exe

I noticed this applet works just fine when I have Home2.exe as a shortcut in the startup, all alarms work normally

BTW, what's "RAD", the radio volume?

Sorry...RAD is the Radio antenna power.....duh!!

I have an HTC Tilt and the app is completely unresponsive. Folder is named correctly. No pic in applet ribbon (except the generic pointui symbol) Applet loads and shows clock and two buttons, but I cant do anything (cant tap buttons or clock) wtf? Any idea why this isnt working? It seems like a cool app....

Really really really nice! i kinda loving it actually ;)

thinks are working much more smoothly.. and its very mymuch more clickable now ;)

things to improve or add:

still make the sliders.. just a tad bigger both... or let the sliders when they are out be a little big bigger.. sweet if both are ;)

would be nice if we have the option to have a sort of onscreen sockets to put in some of those buttons, so like the option for the sockets inside the sliders ;) this would make it friendly for both people who like a empty screen and people who like some indicators or functions to be always available with one click of a button ;)

more functions or buttons we can use... like the option to see the next appointment or task... alarm function.. (nice if it would work just like mystatus.. with g-alarm ;)), weather integration etc .. maybe even to buttons to shortcut certain webpages... rss feed think of it XD

Its nice if you put in the function that the other amanaapplet has.. an indicator bar for new income messages emails or missed calls/voicemails.. it would be even nicer to have the ability to have more than one statusbars.. up to 4 max ;)

edit:

it would be very nice to have the option to use the older clock version again or a clock that is digital and not analog.. would be certain for me that i would prefer that ;)

Hi Strages,

thanks for you feedback.

If you want bigger slider you just need to create a theme. I tried to set all controls relativ to the sliders.

I think an onscreen-socket would be good, nice idea. I've got it on my todo list.

More Buttons are planed. As mentioned in the first post I want to use the gap between applet and pointui statusbar. But: I am not a programmer, so it will take some time.

I'm afraid that more statusbars would make the applet unresponsive and you get those information from pointui.

I'll think about the clock. My old clock was a kind of playing with code and messed up the whole code.
